Conflict Resolution
Conflict, when two ideas or desires seem to be in contradiction, is inherent in life and business and is a turning point. When conflict is peacefully resolved the situation is improved. When conflict is approached contentiously or ignored the situation is worse. Following basic principles of conflict resolution - Desire, Understanding, Creativity, and Kindness - make conflict an impetus for growth.
Contention Elimination
"Contention never leads to inspired solutions" (Russell M. Nelson). Contention is also costly; it hurts relationships instead of strengthening them, wastes resources, and is counterproductive. Any elimination of contention opens up the way for resolving conflicts and progress towards worthwhile goals. Proactively strengthening relationships is key to eliminating contention.
Personal Peace
Whatever the status of the conflict, we can obtain personal peace as we move forward following correct principles including continuing to avoid contention, forgiving, and being grateful.
