The world has so many resources and so much technology that is really exciting, but we still struggle to get along and have peace. To improve our world and our lives we need more peacemakers around us and we need to be better peacemakers.
Conflict Resolution
Conflict, when two ideas or desires seem to be in contradiction, is inherent in life and business and is a turning point. When conflict is peacefully resolved the situation is improved. When conflict is approached contentiously or ignored the situation is worse. Following basic principles of conflict resolution - Desire, Understanding, Creativity, and Kindness - make conflict an impetus for growth.
Contention Elimination
"Contention never leads to inspired solutions" (Russell M. Nelson). Contention is also costly; it hurts relationships instead of strengthening them, wastes resources, and is counterproductive. Any elimination of contention opens up the way for resolving conflicts and progress towards worthwhile goals. Proactively strengthening relationships is key to eliminating contention.
We strive to instill these principles in those we work with through thoughtful instruction, interactive examples, and opportunities for reflection and self application.
